"We know from experience and the growing body of supportive literature that the therapeutic relationship a counsellor forms with each client can be the most powerful tool for helping clients change."

(Cochran & Cochran, 2015)

My Approach

I work in an integrative way, meaning I can draw on tools from different counselling models and theories, for example, person centred, CBT, and psychodynamic. This helps to tailor my approach to each individual's personal needs. We are all unique and no one single approach will hold the answers to our problems.

Areas I work in include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, loss and grief, relationship and family problems, stress, life changes, and work problems. This list is not exhaustive and there are many other issues that I can help with.

In a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space, I provide the opportunity to explore experiences, troubles and difficulties that you are having in your life and how you feel. I aim to help you comfortably begin to talk about any issues you are facing, and for you, in your own time, to find empowerment to progress in making the changes you would like to in your life.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"

What is Counselling?

Counselling is grounded in the exclusive relationship between the client and the counsellor. This relationship is entirely focused on the client and their needs, offering a space free from judgment. It is a safe and supportive environment to explore thoughts, feelings, problems, and challenges.

A Safe & Trusting Space

Counselling provides a secure and confidential space where clients can openly share their emotions. The relationship is built on trust, ensuring that clients feel heard and understood without fear of criticism.

Clear Boundaries & Confidentiality

The counsellor remains separate from the client’s personal life outside of sessions. While the client shares their emotions, the counsellor does not reciprocate in the same way. The relationship begins with counselling and ends when sessions conclude, but confidentiality remains long after.
